CITY OF SAUSALITONOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING FORZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENTS TO TITLE 10 CHAPTER 10.44.240 “FORMULA RETAIL”, TABLE 10.24-1 “LAND USES IN COMMERCIAL DISTRICTS”, AND CHAPTER 10.24.040 “SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS” NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Sausalito City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 03-2026 at the Regular City Council Meeting held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 5:00 p.m, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 420 Litho Street, Sausalito on the following proposed action: · Amendments to Title 10 (Zoning) of the Sausalito Municipal Code, Chapter 10.44.240 ‘Formula Retail’, Table 10.24-1 ‘Land Uses in Commercial Districts’, and Chapter 10.24.040 ‘Special Requirements’ The amendments redefine the term ‘formula retail’ in the Sausalito Municipal Code to mean a business with 50 or more locations in California. This allows for any business with less than 50 locations in California to locate in any commercial zoning district within the City that allows the proposed land use. In addition, the amendments will allow formula retail establishments, as redefined (i.e. 50 or more locations in California), to locate in the Shopping Center (SC) zoning district. The amendments described above are categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15061.b.3 of the CEQA Guidelines.
