ORDINANCE SUMMARY FOR PUBLICATION AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THOUSAND OAKS AMENDING THE THOUSAND OAKS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE REGULATION OF ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS (ADUS) AND JUNIOR ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS (JADUS) BY UPDATING TITLE 9, CHAPTER 4, ARTICLE 45 ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS TO BE CONSISTENT WITH STATE LAW (MCA-2025-70003) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting held on February 24, 2026, the City Council of the City of Thousand Oaks introduced an Ordinance to update the City’s Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) and Junior Accessory Dwelling Unit (JADU) Ordinance. The ordinance updates Article 45 to align with recently adopted State Law. City Council approved said Municipal Code Amendments. The second reading for adoption is scheduled for March 10, 2026. This Ordinance shall go into full force and effect at 12:01 a.m. on the thirty-first (31st) day after its passage.
