Proposed ordinance adopting California Building Standards Code to be considered on March 10, 2026.

NOTICE OF SUMMARY OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE: On February 24, 2026, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors has introduced an ordinance, which will be the subject of a second reading and proposed adoption on March 10, 2026, that: Adopts the 2025 California Building Standards Code, Parts 1 through 12 of Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations, including the Administrative Code, Building Code, Residential Code, Electrical Code, Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code, Energy Code, Wildland-Urban Interface Code, Historical Building Code, Fire Code, Existing Building Code, Green Building Standards Code, and Reference Code, and the 2024 International Property Maintenance Code. The ordinance continues previously adopted local amendments, and includes the necessary findings required by California Health & Safety Code �� 13143.5, 17958.5, 17958.7, and 18941.5. The ordinance repeals Title 10 (Building Regulations) of the San Mateo County Ordinance Code and adopts a new Title 10 (Building Regulations) adopting the specified codes by reference, and re-adopting local amendments and regulations. The ordinance will be considered for adoption by the Board of Supervisors on March 10, 2026.
