NOTICE OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 4275 The Butte County Board of Supervisors gives notice pursuant to Government Code �25124(b)(1) that Ordinance 4275 was adopted to Renew Approval of a Military Equipment Use Policy pursuant to Assembly Bill 481. The ordinance was introduced at the Board's March 24, 2026 regular meeting, and was adopted at the April 14, 2026, meeting. A summary of the proposed ordinance is as follows: The ordinance will fulfill the obligations set forth in Assembly Bill 481 (2021-2022). These obligations include the requirement that law enforcement agencies, including the Butte County Sheriff's Office (BCSO), seek governing body approval of a Military Equipment Use Policy in order to continue using or acquiring certain items that the legislature has classified as military equipment. On June 28, 2022 the Butte County Board of Supervisors ("Board") reviewed and ultimately approved an ordinance adopting BCSO's Military Equipment Use Policy. The Board is required by statute to annually review and vote on whether or not to renew the aforementioned ordinance. The ordinance was subsequently renewed each year since its adoption. This ordinance would make a series of determinations and renew the approval of BCSO's Military Equipment Use Policy as proposed by BCSO for 2026. The names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against the ordinance are as follows: AYES: Supervisors Durfee, Ritter, Teeter, Kimmelshue and Chair Connelly. NOES: None.
