The City of Los Angeles
offers a reward payable
at the discretion of the
City Council to one or
more persons in the
sum or sums up to an
aggregate maximum
total sum of $50,000 for
information leading to
the identification and
apprehension of the
person or persons
responsible for the
DEATH OF DEMETRI
LAMAR ALEXANDER, in
the city of Los Angeles
On December 29, 2020,
at approximately 9:25
p.m., Demetri Lamar
Alexander was standing
in a parking lot located
at 3502 West Slauson
Avenue when an
unknown suspect or
suspects began
shooting at him.
Demetri was shot and
died from his injuries in
the hospital the
following day.
Detectives are
continuing to
investigate this crime
but have not been able
to identify any leads.
The detectives believe a
reward may compel
member of the public to
provide information on
the persons responsible
for this crime. The
person or persons
responsible for this
crime represent an
ongoing threat to the
safety of the people of
Los Angeles; therefore, it
is appropriate for the
City of Los Angeles to
offer a reward for
information leading to
the identification,
apprehension and
conviction of the person
or persons responsible
for this crime. Unless
withdrawn or paid by
City Council action, this
offer of reward shall
terminate on, and have
no effect after,
November 18, 2026. The
provisions of payment
and all other
considerations shall be
governed by Chapter 12
of Division 19 of the
LAAC Code, as amended
by Ordinance Nos.
158157 and 166666. This
offer shall be given
upon the condition that
claimants continued
cooperation within the
criminal justice system
relative to this case and
is not available to public
officers or employees of
the City, their families,
persons in law
enforcement or persons
whose misconduct
prompted this reward. If
