NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGREGARDING ANNUAL LEVYOF SERVICE CHARGE ANDASSESSMENTS FORNORTHWEST MOSQUITO ANDVECTOR CONTROL DISTRICTThe Board of Trustees of the Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control District (District) as the legislative body for the District will hold a public hearing concerning: 1) the annual levy of a service charge on all nonexempt parcels of property within the City of Lake Elsinore and 2) the annual levy of an assessment within all other territory of the District to pay for the cost of surveillance and control of mosquitoes, flies, rats and other vectors.The service charge and assessment are to ensure the District’s ability to protect the health and welfare of its residents by providing protection from vectors and vector borne diseases. Following the hearing, the Board will consider the per-parcel service charge and assessment for fiscal year 2026-2027. Any such assessment and service charge will be reasonably related to the District’s cost of providing surveillance and control of vectors. Any sum collected will be used only for improvements, maintenance, and/or services to provide vector surveillance and control in the District. The assessment and service charge will be collected at the same time and in the same manner as county property taxes and shall be subject to the same penalties and procedures available for property taxes. The assessment and service charge schedule will be reviewed and adopted annually after notice hearing.Notice is hereby given that all individuals wishing to comment on the annual levies are invited to attend the meeting of the Board of Trustees at 3:00 pm on May 21, 2026 in the Board room at the District at 1966 Compton Avenue, Corona, California 92881.For further information, call 951-340-9792 from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
