The Nevada Irrigation District Notice of Public Hearing on the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan, Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 09:00am in person at 1036 West Main St, Grass Valley, CA 95945 or via Zoom. The California Water Code requires all urban water suppliers providing water for municipal purposes either directly or indirectly to more than 3,000 customers or supplying more than 3,000 acre-feet of water annually (AFY) to adopt and submit an Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) every five years to the California Department of Water Resources.The Core requirements for the UWMP include an overview description of reliability of supplies, projected supplies and the strategy for meeting water needs; a description of existing and planned supply sources; estimates of past , present and projected water use; 5-year drought risk assessment; a description of the water shortage contingency plan/conservation program; and description of water conservation demand management measures already in place and planned.After the public hearing is held, the NID Board of Directors will consider adopting the UWMP.The public draft of the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan is available for review on NID’s website at : https://www.nidwater.com/ag-urban-water-management-plansor can be obtained at NID headquarters, 1036 West Main St, Grass Valley, CA 95945.
