NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE KINGS COUNTY AREA PUBLIC TRANSIT AGENCYNotice is hereby given that the Kings County Area Public Transit Agency (KCAPTA) and Kings County Associations of Governments (KCAG) will hold Public Hearings in pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 99238.5. The meetings will be for the purpose of soliciting comments on the unmet transit needs that may exist within Kings County and that might be reasonable to meet by establishing or contracting for new public transportation or specialized transportation services or by expanding existing services. Unmet public transportation needs are defined as, at a minimum, transportation services, which are not provided for persons who do not have access to private vehicles, or other forms of transportation, due to age, income, or disability, for the purpose of medical care, shopping, social/recreational activities, education/training, and employment. A finding of no unmet transit needs must make specific reference to the effort undertaken in development of the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), to identify the public transportation needs of the transit dependent, especially the elderly, disabled, and poor.
