CITY OF INDIO NOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Indio will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, beginning at 5:00 PM. The public hearing will be held in person at 100 Civic Center Mall, Indio, CA 92201, to consider the following: Public Hearing Item(s) : The applicant, Sandeep Chandi, on behalf of Sunny & Karan, LLC, requests a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (Case No. PLAN-PCN-26-0007) to allow a Type 21 (Off-Sale General) license to permit the sale of beer, wine, and distilled spirits for off-site consumption within an existing convenience store (Circle K) which includes an existing fueling station located at 40695 Jefferson Street (APN: 607-260-077) in the Regional Commercial (RC) zone. The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) determined that the project site is located within Census Tract 494, which is identified as an area of undue concentration for off-sale alcohol licenses. California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: The City of Indio, as Lead Agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), determined the project is categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (Existing Facilities), as the request involves the operation of an existing convenience market with no expansion of the existing use or building footprint.
