NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING On Proposed Final BudgetFor Nevada LAFCOFY 2026-2027
Notice is hereby given that the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) of Nevada County will conduct a public hearing to consider comments on the Commission's Proposed Final Budget and Work Program for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 The Commission approved its preliminary budget on April 9, 2026 which was circulated to LAFCo's funding agencies. On May 21, 2026 the Commission will finalize the process and adopt a final FY 2026-27 Budget and Work Program. Pursuant to Government code §56381 et seq., LAFCo's net operational costs will be apportioned among the county, cities, towns, and independent special districts.
The proposed final budget is available for public review at the Nevada LAFCo office, 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, California, or on our website (see address below) after May 15, 2026. The meeting at which this matter will be considered will be held:

The Commission will consider oral and written testimony by any interested person or affected agency as well as the report of the Executive Officer. After taking testimony, the Commission will consider the Budget Committee's recommended Final Budget and Work Plan as proposed for FY 2026-2027.
