NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF RIVERSIDE COUNTY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing at which all interested persons will be heard, will be held before the Board of Supervisors of Riverside County, California, on the 1st Floor Board Chambers, County Administrative Center, 4080 Lemon Street, Riverside, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 9:30 a.m., or as soon as possible thereafter, to consider adoption of the following:
RESOLUTION NO. F2026-10TO PURSUE SIX PROPOSED FLOOD CONTROL PROJECTS AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING DATE PURSUANT TO SECTION 18 OF THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT ACTWHEREAS, Act 6642 of the State Legislature, Section 18 of the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Act ("District Act") requires that the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District ("District") adopt a resolution specifying its intention to undertake new projects, including the engineering estimates of the cost for each. The resolution must also set the date that the District's Board of Supervisors ("Board") will conduct a public hearing to consider any written and oral objections to the proposed projects; andWHEREAS, the adoption of this Resolution of Intent and conducting the public hearing required by Section 18 of the District Act are administrative activities that do not constitute a "project" under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") Guidelines Section 15378; any future construction of these projects will be subject to separate Board approval and CEQA review after detailed engineering and environmental reviews are performed.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED by the District's Board in regular session assembled on May 12, 2026 that: 1. The Clerk of the Board is directed to cause a copy of this Resolution of Intent to be published twice, once at least twenty-one (21) days before said hearing and once fourteen (14) days before said hearing, in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance with Section 18 of the District Act4. Written protests against any of the proposed projects must be received by the District at 1995 Market Street, Riverside, CA 92501, c/o Jason Swenson, or via email at section18-comments@rivco.org prior to the public hearing or may be presented and heard at the time and place of the public hearing noted below;5. A public hearing will be held on June 9, 2026 during the regular meeting of the District's Board of Supervisors that commences at 9:30 a.m., in the meeting room of the Board, 1st Floor, County Administrative Center, 4080 Lemon Street, Riverside, CA 92501, at which time all oral and written objections to any of the projects will be heard and considered
