CITY OF SAN PABLO NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING MONDAY, MAY 18, 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of San Pablo, State of California, will conduct a Public Hearing in the Council Chambers of the City of San Pablo, 1000 Gateway Avenue, San Pablo, CA 94806, on Monday, May 18th, 2026 at 6:00 pm, to consider the following: PLAN 2602-0004 Amendment to the Safety Element of the San Pablo General Plan 2035: On April 7, 2025, by Resolution 2025-043, the City of San Pablo adopted the City of San Pablo Annex of the Contra Costa County Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and on July 7, 2025, by Resolution 2025-097, the City of San Pablo adopted the San Pablo General Plan 2035, which included changes to multiple elements, including an update to the Safety Element to incorporate the San Pablo Annex of the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan. The City Council will hold a public hearing and consider approval of an additional amendment to the San Pablo General Plan 2035 to more explicitly adopt the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan as part of the Safety Element and to include required references to the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan within the adopting Resolution, as required by Assembly Bill 2140. The adoption of this Amendment will allow the City to be eligible for part or all of the local share costs on eligible Public Assistance funding to be provided by the State through the California Disaster Assistance Act (CDAA). This amendment to the Safety Element of the General Plan was previously evaluated in the Addenda to the 2030 General Plan EIR (certified on April 18, 2011) prepared for the General Plan Update 2035 (adopted on July 7, 2025), which found that there would not be any new or additional significant environmental impacts due to adoption of the General Plan Update. Members of the public are invited to attend said hearings and express opinions regarding these items.
