THE SCHOOL BOARD OF LEON COUNTY, FLORIDA NOTICE OF INTENT TO AMEND A RULE RULE NUMBERS/TITLES: Policy 2215 Program of Instruction PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The revisions to Policy 2215 Program of Instruction include language that the District shall submit a Required Instruction Implementation Plan to the Commissioner of the Florida Department of Education in accordance with F.A.C. 6A-1.094124. Furthermore, the Resiliency Education Required Instruction section was added to outline the requirement of the District to provide civic and character education and life skills education that builds confidence and supports mental health. Additionally, the Disability History and Awareness Instruction section was added to the policy. SUMMARY OF THE RULE: The School Board's program of instruction shall provide all courses required for middle grades promotion, high school graduation, and appropriate instruction designed to ensure that students meet State Board of Education adopted standards in the following subject areas: reading and other language arts, mathematics, science, computer science and technology, social studies, foreign languages, health and physical education, and the arts.
