The Polk County Housing & Neighborhood Development Office is seeking public comment regarding the final draft of the 2026-2028 State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP). The Local Housing Assistance Plan is a concise description of Polk Countys local housing assistance strategies and local housing incentive strategies adopted by resolution with an explanation of the way in which the program meets the requirements of the SHIP program rules. Local housing assistance strategies implement the housing construction, rehabilitation, repair, or finance programs administered by Polk County Housing & Neighborhood Development using state SHIP funds.
 
A copy of the Polk County SHIP Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) for program years 2026 to 2028 may be requested be emailing KellyCarter@polkfl.gov or calling the Polk County Housing & Neighborhood Development Office at (863) 534-5240. A copy is available for review at the Housing & Neighborhood Development Office located at 1290 Golfview Ave., Bartow, Florida 33831 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
