CDBG First Public Hearing
First Public Hearing Notice
Hardee County BCC is considering applying to Florida Commerce for a FY2025 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Hardee County is eligible to apply for funding in the neighborhood revitalization, commercial revitalization, and housing rehabilitation program areas. Activities funded through the CDBG Program must meet one of the following National Objectives:
1. Provide benefits to low and moderate income persons;
2. Prevent or eliminate slum or blight conditions: or
3. Meet a need of recent origin having a particular urgency where other financial
resources are not available to meet such needs.
The types of activities that CDBG funds may be used for include constructing stormwater ponds, paving roads and sidewalk improvements, installing sewer and water lines, parks and playground improvements, water and sewer line installation, and rehabilitation of homes for low- and moderate-income homes.
In developing a CDBG application, Hardee County must plan to minimize displacement of persons as a result of the activities. In addition, Hardee County is required to develop a plan to assist displaced persons.
