Purpose and Effect: The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss and obtain public input regarding the following policy:     
Policy 5.42. Policy 5.42 is proposed to be amended as follows:
1.	Integrates the provisions of Policy 5.40 regarding student attendance with the existing policy framework.
2.	Allows parents or guardians to request excused absences for off-campus religious instruction during regular school hours, as authorized by Florida Statute 1002.20(2)(c). These absences are permitted only within the designated time allocated for religious instruction and must adhere to the requirements outlined in the Student Progression Plan.
