NOTICE OF PROPOSED VARIANCE REQUEST
Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 11.00.03 of the St. Lucie County Land Development Code and provisions of the St. Lucie County Comprehensive Plan that the following applicant has requested the St. Lucie County Board of Adjustment consider the following request:

PURPOSE: Petition of Gregory King & Brenise Barclay-King for a variance from Section 7.04.01 (Table 7-10) - Lot Size and Dimensional Requirements of the St. Lucie County Land Development Code for an existing (unpermitted) 324-sq.ft. acc. structure to encroach 14.9 ft. into the fifteen (15) foot minimum rear yard (setback) for a 0.1ft. rear setback, and to encroach 7.1 ft. into the ten (10) foot minimum side yard (setback) for a 2.9 ft. side setback.
The petition also includes a variance request to allow for an existing (unpermitted) +/- 60-sq. ft. shed to encroach 12.4 ft. into the fifteen (15) foot minimum rear yard (setback) for a 2.6 ft. rear setback for property located at 701 Brack Rd, in the RS-3, Residential, Single Family-3 Zoning District.
The Public Hearing on this item will be held in the Commission Chambers, Roger Poitras Annex, 3rd Floor, St. Lucie County Administration Building, 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, Florida on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, beginning at 9:30 a.m. or as soon thereafter as possible.
All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard. Written comments received in advance of the public hearing will also be considered. Written comments to the Board of Adjustment should be received by the Planning and Development Services Department Planning Division by (12) noon, on the Tuesday prior to the scheduled hearing. The petition file is available for review at the Planning and Development Services Department Planning offices located at 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, Florida during regular business hours. The St. Lucie County Board of Adjustment has the power to authorize variances from the dimensional requirements of the St. Lucie County Land Development Code, in accordance with the Provisions of Section 10.01.00 of the St. Lucie County Land Development Code.
The proceedings of the Board of Adjustment are electronically recorded. PURSUANT TO SECTION 286.0105, FLORIDA STATUTES, if a person decides to appeal to any decision made by the Board of Adjustment with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings. For such a purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Upon the request of any party to the proceeding, individuals testifying during a hearing will be sworn in. Any party to the proceeding will be granted an opportunity to cross-examine any individual testifying during a hearing upon request. If it becomes necessary, a public hearing may be continued from time to time to a date certain.
