NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF MARCO ISLAND
The City of Marco Island Planning Board, which serves as the City of Marco Islands Local Planning Agency proposes to consider the following matter at a public hearing:
AN APPLICATION FOR A BOAT DOCK EXTENSION PETITION (BD-25-000187) SUBMITTED PURSUANT TO SEC. 54-111(B) OF THE CITY OF MARCO ISLAND CODE OF ORDINANCES, REQUESTING A SEVEN FOOT SIX INCH (7.5) ENCROACHMENT INTO THE WEST SIDE OF THE MAGNOLIA CANAL FROM THE MINIMUM REQUIRED 7.5 FOOT SIDE YARD/RIPARIAN SETBACK, AND APPROVAL OF AN UPDATED DOCK LAYOUT PER RESOLUTION 30-13, CONDITION 9, FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 951 BALD EAGLE DRIVE, MARCO ISLAND, FL 34145
A public hearing on the application for a boat dock extension will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, in the Community Room, Marco Island City Hall, 51 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island, Florida, at 9:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as may be convenient for the City of Marco Island Planning Board. The public hearing may be continued from time to time.
A copy of the application for the boat dock extension is available for public review in the office of the Growth Management Department, Marco Island City Hall, 50 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island, Florida, and Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., excepting city holidays. With respect to the boat dock extension application, interested parties may appear and be heard at the public hearing, or may submit written comments at the hearing or prior to the hearing to Daniel J. Smith, Community Affairs Director at DSmith@cityofmarcoisland.com. The public is hereby advised that members of the City Council may be present at the meeting and may discuss the variance application.
Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, the City hereby advises you that if you or another person decide to appeal any decision made by the City of Marco Island Planning Board with respect to any matter considered at its meeting or hearing, that you or said person will need a record of the proceedings, and that for such purpose, affected persons may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. This notice does not constitute consent by the City for the introduction or admission into evidence of otherwise inadmissible or irrelevant evidence, nor does it authorize challenges or appeals not otherwise allowed by law.
