NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSIDER ORDINANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Santa Rosa County, Florida, on April 9, 2026, will hold a public hearing in the Board Room at the Administrative Center, located at 6495 Caroline Street, Milton, FL 32570. The public hearing will be to consider adopting the following ordinance with the title, time and substance being: 8:30 AM SPEED DETECTION SYSTEMS IN SCHOOL ZONES: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF SANTA ROSA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE SANTA ROSA COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADD SECTION 21.6 ENTITLED SPEED DETECTION SYSTEMS IN SCHOOL ZONES; PROVIDING FOR THE USE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SCHOOL ZONE SPEED LIMIT DETECTION SYSTEMS; PROVIDING FOR APPEALS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The proposed ordinance may be inspected by the public at the Office of the County Administrator located at Suite D, 6495 Caroline Street, Milton, Florida 32570. If any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at these hearings, such person will need a record of the proceeding and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Santa Rosa County adheres to the American Disabilities Act and will make reasonable modifications and accommodations for access to these hearings upon request. Requests may be made to the risk management department at 850-983-1863, TTY 711, or tomk@santarosa.fl.gov at least one week prior to provide a reasonable accommodation.
