PUBLIC NOTICE - CITY OF TAMARAC PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT TO THE 2025 2029 CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND FY 25/26 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN NOTICE is given that a draft of the proposed Substantial Amendment to the 2025 2029 Consolidated Plan (ConPlan) and Program Year 2025 Annual Action Plan (AAP) for the City of Tamarac will be available for a thirty (30) day public comment and review period and a public hearing. The City is proposing to add new goals and goal outcomes to the five-year Strategic Plan. These goals include public facilities and infrastructure improvements and goal outcomes for affordable housing, including acquisition for the purposes of the development of affordable housing units, and public services. The City also received a combined allocation of $944,156.74 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds from its membership in the Broward County HOME Consortium. HOME funds are intended to provide affordable housing opportunities for low- to moderate households. The City is proposing to reprogram $886,958.74 of the HOME funds from the Minor Home Repair Program to First Time Homebuyer activities for buyers whose incomes do not exceed 80% of the area median income limits. 30-Day Public Comment Period: The draft of the Substantial Amendment will be available for public comment between Monday, April 13, 2026 through Wednesday, May 13, 2026, online at https://www.tamarac.org/367/Housing Administration or at Housing Division of the Community Development Department at the City of Tamarac City Hall, located at 7525 NW 88th Avenue, Room 206, Tamarac, FL 33321. Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to gather feedback from the community on the proposed Substantial Amendment. The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 7:00PM during the City Commission meeting in the Commission Chamber at City Hall, 7525 N.W. 88th Avenue, Tamarac, FL 33321. All residents are encouraged to attend and provide comments. Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to this topic or to any matter considered at such a meeting or hearing, s/he will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
