PUBLIC NOTICE - CITY OF TAMARAC PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT TO THE 2025 2029 CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND FY 25/26 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN NOTICE is given that a draft of the proposed Substantial Amendment to the 2025 2029 Consolidated Plan (ConPlan) and Program Year 2025 Annual Action Plan (AAP) for the City of Tamarac will be available for a thirty (30) day public comment and review period and a public hearing. The City is proposing to transfer approximately $1,278,687 in program income generated from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The planned activities include housing rehabilitation, downpayment assistance for first time homebuyers, and program administration. NSP was created under the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 to address rising residential foreclosures and property abandonment and to stabilize communities negatively impacted by foreclosures. The City is currently in the process of closing out its NSP grants in accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements and guidance. The proposed allocation of these funds is outlined below: CDBG Administration: $180,000 CDBG Public Services: $191,803 CDBG Housing Rehab: $906,884 30-Day Public Comment Period: The draft of the Substantial Amendment will be available for public comment between Monday, February 2, 2026 through Wednesday, March 4, 2026 and will be available online at https://www.tamarac.org/367/Housing-Administration or at the Citys Housing and Community Development Department (HCD), located at 7525 NW 88th Avenue, Room 206, Tamarac, FL 33321. Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to gather feedback from the community on the proposed Substantial Amendment. The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 7:00PM during the City Commission meeting in the Commission Chamber at City Hall, 7525 N.W. 88th Avenue, Tamarac, FL 33321. All residents are encouraged to attend and provide comments. Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to this topic or to any matter considered at such a meeting or hearing, s/he will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
