NOTICE OF FORFEITURE/SEIZURE Notice is hereby given of seizure of TWO THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($2,760.00) IN UNITED STATES CURRENCY; ONE (1) BLACK TAURUS G3C 9MM PISTOL, S/N 1KA03071 W/MAGAZINE AND ROUNDS AND FENTANYL on APRIL 9, 2026, AT RIVER RIDGE RD. AT BROOKWOOD DR., RICHMOND COUNTY, AUGUSTA, GEORGIA by members of the RICHMOND COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE. The seized property was directly or indirectly used or intended for use to facilitate Trafficking in Fentanyl and found in close proximity to Fentanyl and/or other property which is subject to forfeiture pursuant to the provisions O.C.G.A. §9-16-11. Further, the said weapon was available for use to facilitate a violation of the Controlled Substance Act. Any owner or interest holder may file a claim within 30 days after receipt of this notice or, when notice is provided by publication, within 30 days after the second publication, whichever comes last. Claim must be submitted in the manner required by law to Jared T. Williams, District Attorney, Augusta Judicial Circuit, 735 James Brown Boulevard, Suite 2400, Augusta, Georgia 30901 by certified mail, return receipt requested or statutory overnight delivery. Any such claim shall be signed by the owner or interest holder and shall provide the following 1) The name of the claimant; 2) The address at which the claimant resides; 3) A description of the claimant's interest in the property; 4) A description of the circumstances of the claimant's obtaining an interest in the property and, to the best of the claimant's knowledge, the date the claimant obtained the interest and name of the person or entity that transferred the interest to the claimant; 5) The nature of the relationship between the claimant and the person who possessed the property at the time of the seizure; 6) A copy of any documentation in the claimant's possession supporting his or her claim; and 7) Any additional facts supporting his or her claim.
