NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: The Rock Island City Planning & Zoning Commission has received a request from the City of Rock Island s Community Development Department to consider a rezoning from C-2 (nature conservation) district to B-4 (highway business) district for part of the described parcel of land: PIN 1620200004 in Blackhawk Township, Rock Island, Illinois. The area to be rezoned is along the southernmost portion of the property measuring approximately 80 by 2,253 . As part of this request, the area will be replatted and split between parcels with PINs 1620400002, 1621300001, & 1621300008, which are zoned B-4 (highway business) district. Before a decision is made, a public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd, 2026. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 3rd Floor, 1528 3rd Avenue. Everyone who attends will have a chance to speak. If you want to be an interested party and have the right to ask questions during the hearing, you must fill out an appearance form and submit it to the City Clerk at City Hall by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
