NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: The City of Rock Island s Planning & Zoning Commission has received a request from Mary Gordon to consider a use authorization in an R-2 (two unit residential) district for the described parcel of land: PIN 0735425008 in Rock Island Township, also known as 702 20th Street Rock Island, Illinois. The applicant seeks use authorization to establish a congregate living arrangement consistent with the Zoning Ordinance definition of a boarding and lodging house. The property includes eight living quarters with private bathrooms and shared kitchen and living areas. Seven rooms will be rented to seven individual tenants, with the eighth occupied by the owner. Twelve parking spaces which includes the 2-car garage will be provided at the premises. Boarding and Lodging Rooms is a use that needs to be authorized by the Planning & Zoning Commission to operate in an R-2 district as found in Article XIV, Section 4b of the City s Zoning Ordinance. Before a decision is made, a public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd, 2026, at the Council Chambers at City Hall, 3rd Floor, 1528 3rd Avenue.
