The Kankakee County Housing Authority (KCHA) is developing a draft 2026 Agency Plan in compliance with the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998. The draft Agency Plan and supporting documentation will be available for public review and comment at the Kankakee County Housing Authorities Administrative Office located at 185 North St. Joseph Street, Kankakee, IL 60901. The Authority hours of operation are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday and 8am through 12pm on Friday. In addition, the KCHA Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at 5:30 pm Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Authoritys Administrative Office. The purpose of the public hearing is to obtain citizen comments on the Agency Plan,and 5-year plan, which will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on or about April 15, 2026.
