NOTICE OF APPOINTMENTVETERAN AFFAIRS COMMISSIONThe Bremer County Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants for the Veteran Affairs Commission. The Commission is a three-member committee that provides guidance and oversees the operations of the County Veterans Affairs Department.  The appointment begins July 1, 2026, and lasts for three years. Candidates must be a resident of the county who honorably served in the U.S. Armed Forces during a war period per Iowa Code Sections 35.1 & 35B.3. Applicants must include proof of military service (DD-214). Veterans from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply by June 12, 2026.Applications can be obtained at and returned to the Bremer County Auditor's Office: 415 East Bremer Ave, Waverly, IA, (319) 352-0340 swolf@co.bremer.ia.us.
