LEGAL NOTICE CHEROKEE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 22, 2026 The Cherokee Community School District Board of Education held a Special Meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. The meeting was held in the CWHS Conference Room, 600 W. Bluff St., Cherokee, Iowa. The meeting was called to order at 2:57 P.M. Moved by Mullins, seconded by Freed to approve the agenda. Unanimously Approved Moved by Freed, seconded by Riggert to enter into closed session at 2:59 P.M.under Section 21.5.1(i) of the Iowa Code to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual's reputation and that individual requests a closed session. A roll call vote was taken. Ayes:Barkley, Freed, Thomas, Mullins, Riggert The board returned to open session at 3:52 P.M. Moved by Freed, seconded by Riggert to enter into closed session at 4:00 P.M.under Section 21.5.1(i) of the Iowa Code to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual's reputation and that individual requests a closed session.
