Notice of Primary Election Notice is hereby given that there will be a Republican Party and Democratic Party Primary Election in Plymouth County, Iowa, at the voting locations in each of the established precincts, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, for the purpose of nominating the candidates for federal, state, and county offices for the Republican and Democratic Parties. The voting locations in all 11 voting precincts will be open from 7:00 a.m.until 8:00 p.m. Public testing on the voting equipment will begin on Monday, May 18th at 9:00 a.m.in the election storage room in the Courthouse Annex basement. Voters should call 712-546-6100 if wishing to attend the public test. Per Iowa's voter ID law, voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the voting location before they may receive and cast a ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered or who have moved, or changed precincts may also be required to provide proof of residence. Any voter who cannot show ID may have their identity attested to by another registered voter in the precinct who the has proper ID. Eligibility to vote on various offices may differ from precinct to precinct depending on where the established jurisdiction boundary is for each of the offices on the ballot. Also within each election; the Republican Primary or Democratic Primary, candidate names on the respective party ballots are rotated by precinct if multiple candidates are running for the same office.
