5/4/26 Special SessionThe special session of the Board of Education was called to order by Vice President Carol Dettmer at 5:30 p.m. in the Instructional Support Center of the Administrative Center, 1515 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, Iowa. Present were Carol Dettmer, Katherine Koehler, Madison Nelson, Jennifer Dorsey-Lee, Directors. Absent were Cindy Garza, President; Megan Markos, Jen Cooley, Directors; Maxson Case, Student Representative.
A motion was made by Director Dorsey-Lee and seconded by Director Koehler to approve the agenda. Ayes all.
The Board of Directors held a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. on amending the certified budget for FY 2025-2026. There were no taxpayers who requested to be heard.A motion was made by Director Koehler and seconded by Director Dorsey-Lee to approve the certified budget amendment presented for FY 2025-2026. A roll call vote was taken resulting in four ayes; Directors Garza, Cooley and Markos were absent.A motion was made by Director Dorsey-Lee and seconded by Director Koehler to adjourn the special session meeting. Ayes all. The meeting adjourned at 5:33 p.m.The next scheduled meeting of the Board of Education: Regular meeting to be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026 in the Board Room of the Administrative Center, 1515 S.
