NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Cerro Gordo County Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on May 26, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse, 220 N Washington Ave, Mason City, IA 50401.
Said Board of Adjustment will consider the application of Kyle Peterson for a special exception to the R-3 Single Family Residential District and general requirements of the Zoning Ordinance.
The request, if approved, would allow the existing dwelling to be raised and the foundation to be repaired/replaced; update the basement with additional headroom; remove the roof & replace with a new gable roof; add an 8'x24' addition on the west side of the dwelling and a 20'x32' addition on the rear (south side) of the dwelling. The proposed foundation repair/replacement and basement will be 8' from the front lot line at its closest point. The proposed 8'x24' addition will be 11' from the front lot line. A 15'-8” front yard average setback is required. The proposed 20'x32' addition on the rear (south side) of the dwelling will be 24' from the rear lot line. A 30' rear yard setback is required.
