NOTICE OF A PROPOSED
DEVELOPMENT IN THE FLOODPLAIN
The Town of Monmouth is requesting financial assistance under the
Community Development Block Grant Public Infrastructure Program for a
project known as Extension of Public Water Service to North Monmouth.
If implemented, the proposal will provide access to the municipal water
system for business and residents in North Monmouth. The Monmouth
Water Association intends to install approximately 14,700' new water
main along Blaisdell Road, Wilson Pond Road, North Main Street, New
Street, Highland Terrace, and Old Lewiston Road in Monmouth, Maine.
The Association will also install a new water storage facility in one of two
locations on Academy Road and replace approximately 1000' of water
main along Academy Road.
The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the proposed project
crosses a floodplain in three spots. The total of the three spots combined
