Notice of Intent to File  Maine Water Quality  Certification Application  Please take notice that Hackett Mills Hydro Associates, LLC of 7315 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 1100W, Bethesda, MD 20814; Telephone: (240) 482-2700, is intending to file an application with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MDEP) for a Water Quality Certification pursuant to the provisions of the Federal Clean Water Act, Section 401. The application is for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) relicensing for the continued operation of the Hackett Mills Hydroelectric Project (FERC No. 6398) located on the Little Androscoggin River at 1 Mechanic Falls Road, Poland, Maine 04274 under the terms of a new license from the FERC.  The Application will be filed on or about May 22, 2026, and will be available for public inspection at MDEP's offices in August during normal working hours. A copy of the application may also be seen at the town offices of Minot and Poland. A request for a public hearing or a request that the board of Environmental Protection assume jurisdiction over this application must be received by the Department, in writing, no later than 20 days after the application is filed with the Department. Public comment on the application will be accepted throughout the processing of the application.
