Our water system is responsible for proving high quality drinking water and removing lead pipes from service lines but cannot control the variety of materials used in plumbing components in your home. You can take responsibility by identifying and removing lead materials within your home plumbing and taking steps to reduce your family's risk.
Read below to learn how you can protect yourself from lead in drinking water.
1. Let the water run before drinking tap water flush your pipes for several minutes by running your tap. If you 
	have a lead service line, you may need to let the water run longer. A service line is the underground pipe that 
	brings water from the main water pipe under the street to your home.
