Resolution appoints Suplee, Clooney & Company as Auditor for the Authority.

RESOLUTION 2026-2
RESOLUTION APPOINTING AUDITOR
 
WHEREAS, there exists a need for the Plainfield Area Regional Sewerage Authority (the ‘Authority') to engage the services of an Auditor for the coming Authority year; and
WHEREAS, a Request for Qualifications for such services was published in accordance with N.J.S.A. 19;44A-20.4, et seq; and
WHEREAS, one responsive proposal for said services was received from Suplee, Clooney & Company of Westfield, New Jersey (“Suplee Clooney”) and evaluated by he Authority; and
WHEREAS. The proposal submitted by Suplee Clooney was found to comply with the Authority's evaluation criteria and, based on such criteria, most likely to best serve the interests of the Authority if accepted; and
WHEREAS, funds have been allocated in the Authority's 2026 budget for these purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq.) requires public notice of resolutions engaging consultants to provide professional services in the absence, as here, of a strictly competitive bidding process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Plainfield Aea Regional Sewerage Authority as follows:
1. The services to be rendered by the Authority's Auditor are services to be performed by persons authorized by law to practice a recognized profession and whose practice is regulated by law and, therefore comply with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(1)(a) as professional services.
2. The services of the following firm are hereby engaged to serve as Auditor for the Authority for a period not to exceed one year.
 
     Suplee, Clooney & Company
     308 East Broad Street
     Westfield, New Jersey 07090
 
3. The Executive Director is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract on behalf of the Authority with said firm that is consistent with the aforesaid proposal and for an amount not to exceed Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00).
4. A copy of this resolution shall be available for public inspection at the offices of the Authority at 200 Clay Avenue, Middlesex, New Jersey and in the offices of the municipal clerks of the Authority's member municipalities.
5. A copy of this resolution or a notice of its adoption shall be published in the Courier News as required by law within 10 days of its passage.
