NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND HOME PROGRAMS CITY OF BRIDGETON The City of Bridgeton proposes to initiate planning for the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) and the continuation of the HOME Investment Partnership Program, which are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Community Development Block Grant for FY 2026-2027 will be $333,760 and Bridgeton's allocation of HOME Program Funds is estimated to be $166,000. This amount reflects our best estimate based on previous cycles, however amounts still to be determined by HUD. Public Hearings are being scheduled to obtain citizens' views and to respond to proposals and questions. The Hearings will address housing, community and economic development needs, development of proposed activities, and review of program performance. The City will also obtain the views of citizens on priority non-housing community development needs. The information received from interested persons at the hearings will assist the City and the Community Development Advisory Personnel in the preparation of the FY 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan and to update to its Consolidated Plan for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2030, which is required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of the application process for Community Development and HOME funds. Information will be made available to citizens regarding application procedures, timing, eligible activities, and other regulations related to the Community Development and HOME Programs. Information on past use of CDBG funds will also be available. Representative(s) from the City will also be available to answer questions that may arise through the forum of public hearings. In accordance with the procedures as set forth in the Citizen Participation Plan, there will be a public hearing on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 4:00p.m., and Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 4:00p.m., in the Office of Community Development & Planning, 50 East Broad St, Bridgeton, New Jersey. Citizens are invited to submit written or verbal comments at or prior to the hearings. This Notice is issued in accordance with CDBG and HOME regulations.
