LEGAL NOTICE PUBLIC NOTICE AS PER ROME CITY CODE ARTICLE III WEEDS AND WILD GROWTH Notice is hereby given that the owner(s), lessee, or agent of any lot or land located in the inside or outside corporation districts of the City of Rome shall maintain weeds, grass, brush or any rank vegetation on any such lot or land to height no greater than eight (8) inches during the period of April 1st through October 31st. The Chief Code Enforcement Officer, or his designee, shall serve written notice on any owner(s), lessee or agent of any such lot to comply with this order. Failure on the part of the owner(s), lessee or agent to comply with this order within five (5) days from service will result in the Chief Code Enforcement Officer, or his designee to have said weeds, grass, brush, or other rank vegetation to be cut. The actual cost of cutting and 20 percent for administrative costs will be charged as a lien against the property along with a surcharge of $150.00 shall be levied for the first offense. A surcharge of $250.00 shall be levied for a second offense within the calendar year of the first offense and a surcharge of $500.00 will be assessed for a third offense within one calendar year of the second offense. A copy of this ordinance may be reviewed at Rome City Hall.
