NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW #1 OF 2026 CITY OF RENSSE- LAER, NY

A RESOLUTION TO AP- PROVE PROPOSED LO- CAL LAW NO. 1

2026 AS TO FORM AND SCHEDULING A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON

Common

WHEREAS, the City of Rensselaer Council finds that in order to design, oper- ate, and maintain safe, accessible, and con- nected transportation networks for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and transit riders of all ages and abilities a new Article IV entitled Complete Streets shall be added to the City of Rensselaer Code shift- ing focus from centric, high-speed de- sign to safe, equitable access, aiming to re- duce traffic fatalities, improve public health through active trans- portation, boost local economies, and de- crease environmental impact.; and

WHEREAS, the Common Council has reviewed proposed Local Law No. 1 of the year 2026, a copy of whch can be viewed on the City Web- site or obtained in the City Clerk's Office;

WHEREAS, such Local Law appears appropri- ate as to form and it ap- pearing appropriate for a Public Hearing to be scheduled so as to con- sider public comments on such proposed Local Law.

NOW,

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that pro- posed Local Law No. 1 of the year 2026 is here- by approved as to form; and

BE IT FURTHER RE- SOLVED, that a Public Hearing will be held at 6:30 pm on March 4, 2026, at the City Hall of the City of Rensselaer located at 62 Washing- ton Street, Rensselaer, New York, so as to the allow the Common Council to hear Public Comment on proposed Local Law No. 1 of 2026.
