Public hearing on parking permit amendments scheduled for February 24, 2026.

 



NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TAKE NOTICE, that the Town Board of the Town of Southampton hereby directs that a public hearing shall be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., both in-person, at Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, New York, and via videoconferencing, to hear any and all persons either for against a local law entitled, “ A LOCAL LAW to consider amending Chapter 111 (Beaches, Parks and Waterways) in connection with special parking permits ”; and take

FURTHER NOTICE that, pursuant to Local Law No. 14 of 2022, the public will have an opportunity to see and hear the meeting live both in-person as well as via videoconferencing, and to provide comments in either format, with a transcript provided upon request.

If participating via videoconferencing, the public can watch the live meeting online from either the Town of Southampton website on the Town Clerk’s Meeting Portal, or through the Zoom App. If any interested members of the public would like to provide comments on the public hearing, comments can be called in during the meeting via telephone or the Zoom App. Comments can also be emailed up until one hour before the start of the meeting to the Town Clerk at: townclerk@southamptontownny.gov .

Summary of Proposed Law

The purpose of this amendment is to allow Sag Harbor Village residents who live within the boundaries of the Town of East Hampton to continue to purchase a special parking permit to Mecox Beach for the 2026-2027 season only, expiring on June 30, 2027.

Copies of this local law, sponsored by the entire Town Board, are on file in the Town Clerk’s Office, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
