PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM At a regular meeting held on April 21, 2026 of the Board of Fire Com- missioners of the High Falls Fire District in the Town of Marbletown, Rosendale, Ulster Coun- ty, New York a resolu- tion was adopted, an abstract of which is as follows
RESOLVED:
that the
Treasurer be authorized to withdraw the sum of up to fifty thousand and 00/100 ($50,000) dol- lars from the Apparatus Reserve heretofore es- tablished for the Acqui- sition of Vehicles, and Apparatus for the pur- chase of a new Chief's Truck.
AND BE IT FURTHER RE- SOLVED: The purpose of the purchase of this vehicle is to permit the chief to respond to fire and other emergency calls and to have all necessary equipment in the car for the use of the chief.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE: that the adop- tion of this resolution is subject to a permissive referendum and shall
take effect thirty (30) days after its adoption, unless there shall be filed in the interim with the Fire District Secre- tary a petition signed and acknowledged or approved in the same manner as a deed to be recorded by resident taxpayers of the High Fall's Fire District own- ing taxable real proper- ty aggregating at least one-quarter of the as- sessed valuation of all taxable real property of the Fire District, as such valuation appear on the latest completed assessment rolls of the Town of Marbletown or Rosendale, protesting against such resolution and requesting that it be submitted to the qualified electors of the Fire District for their ap- proval.
