Legal Notice # 21933239 TOWN OF RIVERHEAD PUBLIC NOTICE PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board of the Town of Riverhead on the 20th day of May, 2026 at 6:00 o'clock in the evening of that day at the Town Hall located at 4 West Second Street, Riverhead, New York pursuant to Article 2 of the New York State Eminent Domain Procedure Law with respect to the proposed condemnation of 111 E. Main Street, reputed owner, The Place for Learning Inc., Suffolk County Tax Map 0600-129-01-11. The proposed acquisition will be for general municipal purposes. This acquisition has been determined by the Town Board of the Town of Riverhead, as lead agency, to be a Type I action pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 617.4 (a)(2) and 225-11 B. (10) of the Riverhead Town Code as it involves "actions involving commercial or multifamily use within a Town of Riverhead Historic District or located within 500 feet of a Town of Riverhead Historic District Boundary," and had undergone mandatory coordinated review among involved agencies and the Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the acquisition is not expected to result in any significant adverse environmental impacts and has directed the Planning Department on behalf of the Town Board to submit a Negative Declaration to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Environmental Notice Bulletin.
