SUFFOLK COUNTY NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board of the Town of Riverhead at Riverhead Town Hall, 4 West Second Street, Riverhead, New York, on the 20th day of May, 2026 at or about 6:10 p.m. to Amend Chapter 293 of the Riverhead Town Code Titled “Waterways and Water-Related Activities”, Article IX “Shellfish and Finfish”. The intent of the proposed legislation is to implement a shellfish permit fee for residents, increase shellfish permit fee for temporary residents and set the number of days a shellfish permit is valid for temporary residents to 30 days. A copy of the entire text of the proposed local law and the provisions of the existing law to be amended may be reviewed at the Office of the Town Clerk, 4 West Second Street, Riverhead, New York 11901, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and can be accessed on the Town of Riverhead website at: www.townofriverheadny.gov under the Agenda and Minutes for the April 21, 2026 Town Board Meeting.
