NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TAKE NOTICE, that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Southampton on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, New York to consider the acquisition of lands of NRO Corp, the purported owner of approximately 4.8 acres of land located at 17 Larboard Road and 24 North Road , in the Hamlet of Hampton Bays, Suffolk County, New York , shown as SCTM# 900-208-1-4.1 and 900-208-1-2, for preservation of open space, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 140 of the Town Code and §247 of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York; in the amount of $1,900,000.00 with the source of funding to be the Community Preservation Fund Account GL 31-99-1940-31-6208-0001; and to consider whether to amend the Community Preservation Fund Project Plan to include the property located at 24 North Road, Hampton Bays and amend the CPF Management and Stewardship Plan to include both properties under the designation of Open Space/ Greenbelt Target Area of Shinnecock Hills Greenway within the Community Preservation Project Plan . FURTHER NOTICE that, pursuant to Local Law No. 14 of 2022, the public will have an opportunity to see and hear the meeting live both in-person as well as via videoconferencing, and to provide comments in either format, with a transcript provided upon request. If participating via videoconferencing, the public can watch the live meeting online from either the Town of Southampton website on the Town Clerk’s Meeting Portal or through the Zoom App. If any interested members of the public would like to provide comments on the public hearing, comments can be called in during the meeting via telephone or the Zoom App. Comments can also be emailed up until one hour before the start of the meeting to the Town Clerk at: townclerk@southamptontownny.gov . Please continue to check the Town Clerk’s website and Meeting Portal as the hearing date approaches for any updated information, including the specific meeting Zoom link, and/or more detailed instructions on how to access the meeting virtually.
