Public hearing for 2026 Tentative Assessment Roll complaints in Tonawanda.

LEGAL NOTICE CITY OF TONAWANDA NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF 2026 TENTATIVE ASSESSMENT ROLL HEARING OF COMPLAINTS Notice is hereby given that the Assessor of the City of Tonawanda, County of Erie, and State of New York has completed the 2026 Tentative Assessment Roll pursuant to Section 506 & 512 of the Real Property Tax Law. (Section 3-3.0 Erie County Tax Act, As Amended). The Assessment Roll for 2026 will be able to be viewed electronically at the City of Tonawanda website at www.tonawandacity.com on the home page. It can also be viewed at the Assessors page on same web site. A copy thereof will also be open for public inspection in the Assessor's Office at Tonawanda City Hall, 200 Niagara Street Tonawanda, New York, from May 1st, 2026 to May 30th, 2026 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday where it may be seen and examined by any person interested therein. Additional hours will also be available on Saturday May 16th 2026 from 8am-12pm and Tuesday May 19th 2026 from 6-8 pm (Both days by appointment only). The Board of Assessment Review will meet on Wednesday May 27th, 2026 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tonawanda City Hall, 200 Niagara Street, to hear and examine, all verified written complaints in relation to assessments of any person believing himself to be aggrieved. Appointments are recommended, and you can call the Assessor's office after May 11th at 716-695-8638 to schedule an appointment. Reviews can also be done on a non-hearing basis by dropping off or mailing in your information to the Assessor's office. Please be aware that based on recent Judicial Decisions, the Board of Assessment Review WILL NOT accept any filings sent by electronic means (e-mail, etc.) Please consider any sent electronically as not received by the City of Tonawanda Applications, including the mandatory RP 524 form, and publications outlining procedure for contesting assessments are available on the City of Tonawanda Website at www.tonawandacity.com on the Assessor's page or available at the Assessor's Office at City Hall, 200 Niagara Street, Tonawanda NY.
