TOWN OF VIRGIL NOTICE OF MEETING & PUBLIC HEARING OF THE VIRGIL ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a meeting and public hearing will be held by the Town of Virgil Zoning Board of Appeals on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Virgil Town Hall, 1176 Church Street, Virgil, New York 13045. The public hearing will be held to consider the following application for the property located at 1700 State Route 392, Town of Virgil, New York, and is identified as Tax Map No. 127.00-08-03.000. 1. Applicants Alan and Sue Stevens are requesting a use variance to construct an additional 80 x 30 mini self-storage building. The proposed structure meets all required setback requirements within the commercial district. However, under the Virgil Zoning Law, mini storage buildings are not permitted use in a commercial zone and are only allowed in an industrial zone. Therefore, the applicants must obtain a use variance from the Zoning Board. Although mini storage units already exist on the property, a variance is required due to the proposed expansion of a nonconforming use. The application materials are available for review at www.virgilny.gov or by contacting the Office of the Town Clerk at (607) 835-6174, Ext. 2. All interested persons will be heard at the public hearing. Persons may appear in person, by attorney, or by other representative.
