NOTICE TO BIDDERS

TO

RECONSTRUCT WEATHER REPORTING EQUIPMENT

AT THE COLUMBIA COUNTY AIRPORT

TOWN OF GHENT, NEW YORK

Sealed bids for the Reconstruct Weather Reporting Equipment will be received at the office of the Columbia County Engineering Department, 178 Route 23B, PO Box 324, Hudson, New York 12534 until 11:00 A.M., local time, Thursday April 9 th , 2026 and there, at said office, at said time, publicly opened and read aloud. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Reconstruct Weather Reporting Equipment” .

The project generally consists of the reconstruction of the Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) in a new location at Columbia County Airport. The Base Bid project includes the removal of the existing AWOS System and appurtenances, tree clearing, installation of a new; AWOS III P/T System including Testing and Commissioning, cable and conduit, handholes, grounding, gravel access road and AWOS site, and fencing. The project will be bid as a base bid with one bid additive. Bid Additive No. 1 includes the installation and coordination of the weather cameras with the FAA Weather Camera Program. Prevailing wage rates apply. Contractors must be bonded and insured to the level indicated in the Contract Documents. The DBE goal for this project is 0.0%. The project is sales tax exempt.

A complete set of Bid Documents, consisting of the General Provisions, Special Provisions, Technical Specifications, Bid, Agreement and Contract Drawings, will be available on Thursday, March 12 th , 2026 and may be obtained from Passero Associates at www.passero.com under the ‘BID’ tab for a fee of $25.00 (Non-refundable).

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Airport at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 23 rd , 2026.

Copies of the above described Contract Documents may be examined at no expense at the Columbia County Highway Department Garage-Engineering Office, 178 Route 23B, Hudson, New York 12534, and at the office of Passero Associates, 94 New Karner Rd, Albany, NY 12203 by appointment only. Technical questions shall be directed to Matt Nissen, P.E. of Passero Associates (email: mnissen@passero.com). All questions shall be submitted no later than Thursday, March 26 th , 2026 .

Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price (combination of base bid or alternate bid plus add-on items) for the contract in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Preparation of Proposal.

The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the bid and to reject any and all bids.
