PUBLIC NOTICE  DESTRUCTION OF EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN CONFIDENTIAL SCHOOL RECORDS   The Iredell-Statesville Schools is in the process of destroying confidential exceptional children's records for students who exited the program prior to the year 2019. The directory information contained in the curriculum folder, including the child's name, address, telephone number, grades, attendance record, classes attended, and grade level completed are not affected and will be maintained without limitations. Only exceptional children's information will be destroyed including psychological reports, other evaluations, and placement records, with the exception of the last IEP and last psychological, which may be needed for social security purposes. Parents, surrogate parents, and eligible students may request a copy of the records prior to their destruction by calling the school they attended. Shredding will begin on July 1, 2026.
