NOTICE OF
PUBLIC MEETING
ACTION: Notice is hereby given that the County of Summit (the “County”) is preparing draft of its 2026 Annual Action Plan (“AAP”) for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”). The AAP is a planning document required under HUD's Consolidated Plan regulations and serves as the County's application for certain federal entitlement funds for Program Year 2026. The draft AAP may be revised prior to submission to reflect any adjustments to incorporate public comments received during the designated comment period.
SUMMARY: The 2026 AAP outlines the County's proposed strategies, priority needs, goals, and activities for the use of federal funds under the Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) and HOME Investment Partnerships (“HOME”) programs during Program Year 2026. The AAP describes how the County intends to address housing, community development, and related service needs for low- and moderate-income residents, including but not limited to affordable housing, neighborhood improvements, public services, and activities designed to assist seniors. The document also identifies anticipated program outcomes, target populations, and geographic focus areas within the County of Summit. The County anticipates receiving $986,027 in Community Development Black Grants and $385,604.96 in HOME Investment Partnership funds.
PUBLIC MEETING: The County will conduct public meetings to discuss the draft 2026 AAP and to receive oral comments from interested residents, community organizations and other stakeholders. The public meetings will be May 15, 2026 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Twinsburg Public Library located at 10050 Ravenna Rd. Twinsburg, Ohio and May 22nd 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Portage Lakes Public Library located at 4261 Manchester Rd. Akron, Ohio.
COMMENT PERIOD: Comments concerning the 2026 AAP stated in this notice should be made during the required comment period. The 30 day comment period for the 2026 AAP is from April 11, 2026 to June 9, 2026. Written comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on the closing comment date and may be made via email to hmiller@summitoh.net or mailed to County of Summit Attn: Holly Miller, Assistant Director 175 S. Main Street Room 207 Akron, Ohio 44308. All mailed comments must be postmarked no later than June 9, 2026.
