NOTICE OF BALLOT TITLE RECEIPT 

Notice is hereby given that a ballot title for an initiative petition was received by the City Elections Official on May 12, 2026.  The ballot title is as follows: 

CAPTION: 	Amends Charter to Require Management of Foredunes Within City Limits.

QUESTION: 	Shall the City of Cannon Beach Charter be amended to require the city to manage foredune areas within city limits?

SUMMARY: 	A foredune is the first ridge of sand dunes located at the landward edge of a beach, running parallel to the shoreline. Alterations to foredune areas, including grading or revegetation, generally require an Ocean Shore Alteration Permit from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department to ensure adherence to state law, including Statewide Planning Goal 18.
