Pacific Power understands that affordability is an ongoing concern for
customers. The company is seeking to limit the financial impact of rate
changes to customers through an overall plan for 2026-2027, including a
general rate case and other rate adjustments, that would see residential
customer rates remain stable through the end of 2026 and go lower during
the first half of 2027, followed by a minimal net increase in july 2027.
On May 5, 2026, Pacific Power filed with the Oregon Public Utility
Commission a general rate case that includes an interim rate proposal,
requesting an overall rate change for all rates of $173.7 million, or 8.8%,
effective july 15, 2027.
The impact of the total general rate case to the monthly bill for an average
residential customer using 900 kilowatt-hours per month would be $16.43.
This includes $4.01 in june 2026 and $12.42 in july 2027 which would
be offset by other planned rate reductions, resulting in a net incr
