Alderwood Water & Wastewater District W2301D Trans Main 1 & 2 Valve Replacement Project Notice of Determination of Nonsignificance and Environmental Checklist A Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) and environmental checklist have been prepared for the above-referenced project in compliance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) under RCW 43.21C. Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is the project proponent and lead agency. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSAL: Critical valve failures on Alderwood Water & Wastewater Districts (AWWDs) water transmission mains built in the 1960s and 1970s initiated this multi-phase project. Phase D includes work at 9 sites. Each sites project includes excavation (limited to the immediate vicinity of the valve), placement of pipe and appurtenances (and vault, if applicable), revisions to stormwater assets (if applicable), revisions to water distribution mains, backfilling, site restoration, and temporary traffic control.
